Robinson and Weber, PSC is a seven-lawyer firm located in Lexington, Kentucky. Our practice is focused on the defense of physicians, hospitals and health care professionals in all courts, both state and federal, in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. We also defend health care professionals before the Kentucky boards of professional licensure.

Born Lorain, Ohio. Since 1988, Mr. Robinson’s practice has focused on medical malpractice defense. With 91 medical malpractice jury trials, Mr. Robinson has won 83 of those trials. Six cases resulted in losses, including a plaintiffs’ verdict with an award of one dollar. Two cases resulted in hung juries. A frequent speaker, both to medical and legal associations, Mr. Robinson co-authored a text on medical-legal issues in The Risk Management Handbook for Health Care Professionals, Parthenon Publishing Group (2002).

Mr. Robinson was named Attorney of the Month in July 2013 by Attorney at Law Magazine. He has been selected for inclusion in the 2010 through 2022 editions of The Best Lawyers in America as well as the 2011 through 2022 editions of Kentucky’s Best Lawyers. Mr. Robinson was selected for membership as one of the “10 Best Attorneys” for Kentucky in 2017 by American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys. He is designated one of Kentucky’s Top Attorneys by Super Lawyers Magazine for the years 2011 through 2022. Mr. Robinson is A-V Rated Preeminent for 20 years by Martindale-Hubbell, highest possible peer review rating in legal ability and ethical standards.

In January 2020, Mr. Robinson accepted membership into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) as an Advocate. ABOTA is a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges. Membership in ABOTA is by invitation only and is limited to a select number of attorneys in the United States. Advocate membership (the highest level of membership) in ABOTA is limited to those lawyers who have tried at least 50 civil jury trials and who have demonstrated high personal character and an honorable reputation.

In 2021, Mr. Robinson was selected among America’s Top 100 Civil Defense Litigators®. Selection to America’s Top 100 Civil Defense Litigators® is by invitation only and is reserved to identify most exceptional Civil Defense Litigators throughout the nation. Only the top 100 qualifying defense litigators in each state will receive this honor and be selected for membership among America’s Top 100 Civil Defense Litigators.

Mr. Robinson has been recognized by Best Lawyers as 2023 “Lawyer of the Year” for Medical Malpractice Law – Defendants in Lexington, Kentucky (2023 Edition of the Best Lawyers). Less than 5% of all practicing lawyers are recognized by Best Lawyers. Only one lawyer is recognized as the “Lawyer of the Year” for each specialty and location.

Shannon M. Naish was born in Seattle, Washington. He graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1997. His undergraduate degree is from the University of Washington. Shannon was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in 1997 and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit, U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky. He is a member of the Fayette County and Kentucky Bar Associations; Member of the Kentucky Defense Council; Defense Research Institute, Inc. Since 2001, he has concentrated his practice in medical malpractice defense and professional malpractice defense. In addition to his civil litigation practice, Shannon has represented a diverse range of health care professionals, including dentists, physicians and nurses, before State Licensure Boards. His clients have also included the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services and the Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet.
